Today I share with you another BTS video. YAY! *holds for applause*
This one is from fellow photographer Christopher Kilkus. I’ve been a fan of his work for a while and I’ve always been impressed with the quality of his work. He definitely knows his way around a camera and how to make an image pop! So, it’s no surprise that his BTS videos follow the same pattern. Check it out:
Whew, talk about production value! Did you see how smooth the camera work was? No jittery shots here. Just smooth, almost stedicam, shots that give it an almost music video feel. Great work!

Thanks for the post on my behind the scenes video! We shoot all our BTS videos with the Canon 5D MarkII which we use as a back up camera on all our shoots anyway, so it makes it easy to put these videos together.
We are going to be doing a lot more in the future too, probably three or four a month now that we have some clients on board to use them too. In fact, Forever21 will be playing them on a 50 foot tall video screen on the front of their new store in Times Square where the old Virgina Megastore used to be.
Oh wow, the man himself makes an appearance!
I had no idea you shot these on the 5D Mark II. I must say it looks amazing!
Keep me posted when you post new videos and I’ll gladly share them! Quick question, how do you get such smooth camera movement?
Very nice work on the video! I’ve just brought an extra 5D MK II onboard to capture the BTS Video bits and peices for my shoots too. Maybe do some interview style footage for the fun of it and to explain whats going on.
Some of that camera work did look very smooth like Jamyia said, were you using any kind of fancy handheld rigs or anything?
Keep it up!
B.
P.S. (Unrelated) Some nice retouch work there too Jamiya!
Brodie,
The 5D Mark II seems capable of anything doesn’t it? I plan on shooting some videos with it myself.
As for my retouching, I actually hire that work out. I don’t have the skill or the patience to do high-end retouching work. I just focus on taking the pictures. LOL.
The 5D MK II is a wonderful peice of equipment. Im amazed at all the amazing video accessories you can buy for it!
Outsourcing retouching, that sounds great! All my work is personal projects at the moment though, and I like to do a bit of retouching so it stays in house for now.
